Gyakie is the stage name of Jacqueline Acheampong, who was born on December 16, 1998.
She is a 24-year-old Ghanaian singer and songwriter who specializes in Afro-fusion music.
She rose to prominence after releasing the smash tune “Never Like This.”
Early Life
Gyakie was born in the Kumasi town of Bompso in 1998. She is originally from Abuakwa, a town in Kumasi.
Ernest Owoahene Nana Acheampong, a Ghanaian music legend, is her father. Her father was a member of the well-known band the Lumba Brothers.
Gyakie had exhibited early signals that she will follow in her father’s footsteps as a musician. Because she had a really resonant voice when she was younger.
She was a member of her church’s choir and one of its lead singers.
Education
Gyakie finished her primary schooling in Kumasi.
She attended TI Amass for her high school education and graduated with a West African School Certificate.
She graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a bachelor’s degree in International Business.
Career
Gyakie debuted professionally in Ghana’s music industry in 2019. Love Is Pretty is her debut single. For several weeks, the song was played on local radio and television stations.
SEED, her debut EP, will be released in August 2020. Gyakie’s EP is a five-track effort that shows her exploring with various sounds.
She collaborated with prominent musician Bisa Kdei on her 2020 single, Sor Mi Mu. Elom ‘E.L’ Adablah and Kuvie are two other artists with whom she has collaborated.
She rose to prominence after releasing the smash tune “Never Like This.”
She has played at prominent gigs in Ghana over the last two years, including Rapperholic, Tidal Rave, and Repu Hall Week, among others.
Flip The Music Entertainment is her current management company.
She has appeared in Nigeria’s One Tribe Magazine as well as Red Bull South Africa. She has appeared as a guest on BBC’s Focus On Africa.
Her EP has had over eleven million streams across various music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Audio Mack, Boomplay, and YouTube.
